Make time for fun things!

So, I am going to be starting my biggest project, ever within the next few weeks and I am both nervous and super excited to be trying something new! I’m not going to disclose any details yet, but stay tuned because I’ll be spilling all the tea very soon! It’s a solo project for now, but I am hoping as the months go on, I’ll be able to bring in other voices!

Anyway, so I finally made time to paint last night, we talked about this before, I am no artist but I just love the creative process so much and enjoy trying new things! I don’t hate the way it turned out, but then again, I could sit here until I am dead and still wouldn’t be 100% satisfied with it. I learned a long time ago that the more you mess with something, the more you’re going to hate it. What I mean by that is this:

I paint something and don’t love it. So I get another idea and think this will make it better; except it doesn’t. I hate it even more now. So I keep messing with it until I WISH it was just the original painting I had done; because I LOVED that one. The creative process is WEIRD!

Tonight is game night at my sisters house so it’s going to be a shorter post! Let me just tell you, if you have people in your life who want to get together and have game nights, DO IT! Sometimes it’s the only fun, easy and carefree part of my week and I desperately need all the fun and carefree I can get right now. I feel like I am always working on breaking into my field (It’s not an overnight thing! If ONLY!) and getting new things done to build my portfolio that I don’t make time for anything else. My parent’s have always said, we were put on this Earth to do more than just work, pay bills and die. And I never really heard them until I was an adult just trying to create a life for myself. It can sometimes be a hard thing to hear, but it’s necessary!

Lessons of the day:

* The creative process is beautiful and WEIRD!

* Make time for fun things, we were put here for more than working, paying bills and dying!

Happy Saturday, everyone!

XOXO
