I cherish these little moments!

    I’m on Auntie duty today! Keagan needed to be dropped at soccer tryouts and then asked if when I picked him up if he could just stay with me! 

 

    The answer is always yes! 

 

 

    He has been my little buddy since the day he was born! My brother had him at 19 and was working full time and in school full time so that left me helping him and being responsible for him for a lot of years. 

 

    I definitely think I had a hand in raising him, I’d like to think so anyway. Considering he called me mom for like 3 years. I stopped correcting him after a while because I think he was searching for something, knowing that in a few years he’d know that I was his auntie and always there for him no matter what. 

 

    Now, he’s 15, about to be 16 and I am GUTTED. He’s a sophmore about to get his learners permit, and venture into life as a high schooler! He’s grown into such an amazing kid! You guys, this might be one of those things like, “ he’s your blood, of course you’d say that”

 

    No, I’m telling you this:

 

  • He’s kind
  • Smart
  • Helpful
  • Would literally give you the shirt off of his back
  • Sensitive
  • Athletic 
  • Genuine 

 

    He’s such a great kid! He was dealt a shitty hand as a child with a, “parent” who chose drugs over being in his life. 

 

    That doesn’t matter, he’s better off without her. He’s got a whole tribe who love him! 

 

    Anyway, I am beyond blessed with 7 little people who I love with every fiber of my being! They’re all amazing in their own ways, little personalities and big emotions! I’ve got 7 amazing babies in my life and I could not be more grateful!

 

    Anyway, I am off to my sisters house, WHO NOW HAS POWER (thank goodness) to have a game night with my sister and Keags! Summer ain’t over yet! I cherish all of these little free moments! 


    The best part about it all is when they ASK to hangout with me. I mean I am the aunt closest to their age, but I'm still almost 30 and they choose to come stay with me, fills my heart!

  Listen, I’m in my cookie era! Here’s what I did! I made a double batch, scooped them and placed them on parchment paper to keep them separated. Placed them in freezer bags and then froze the second batch. That way I have chemical free cookies ready to take out of the freezer whenever I want and bake fresh! This way I can bake 2 if I want instead of making up a whole batch.

My Manic...

     I have been stressing myself out lately about perfection. I can’t share anything I do unless I know it’s perfect. It’s probably going to give me an ulcer.       I decided today that I didn’t need perfection.      It’s not about that. I mean I’ve always known that but I am so unbelievably hard on myself that I allowed those feelings to creep in and attack my inner peace!        I haven’t felt that manic in about a year! So it was definitely something that I had to take care of right away! I almost forgot that my manic was an emotional response to stress.          I was being unappreciative of my own strengths, too hard on my personal weaknesses and turning a blind eye to my mental state.       I called it quits yesterday and decided to do absolutely nothing all day to let my brain rest and recover from my own abuse. Ditch Kitty!

  It’s been awhile since I’ve had an update on my little rescued ditch kitty! Sirius is thriving! he came to me at 1.5 pounds soaking wet and he’s up to 7.5 pounds now! Which is perfectly in line for his age! He’s all up to date on his vaccinations and he doesn’t have to go back for another year! (Unless he needs to!) His personality can only be described as wildly unpredictable and entertaining! His favorite things are wet food, cucumbers and pull tabs from my almond milk and playing nonstop!
